About Us

The Powder Keg was founded 35 years ago by Dr. Lucas and Wendie Potgieter. We have grown to become the
largest specialised hunting shop in South Africa, with a wide range of quality products for the keen hunter in Africa.

Dr. Lucas has written 4 books about hunting and rifles as well as more than 1200 articles on the same subject. He also presented a popular television series about rifles, and a long-running weekly radio programme on the sport of hunting.
